2010 FLORIDA WINE FESTIVAL RECEPTION
An Evening of Enchantment

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 3, 2010) – Stroll through Kleman Plaza experiencing fabulous wine, food and renowned Tallahassee musical performances at The Florida Wine Festival, hosted by The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science.  The Florida Wine Festival will consist of two days of exciting events featuring local artists, cultural organizations and food and wine professionals with a reception on Friday, March 19, 2010 and a free Community Festival on Saturday, March 20, 2010.

On Friday, March 19, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., reception attendees can experience a “never ending glass” of wine filled by varied selections of wines from across the globe, enjoy an assortment of fine foods and listen to internationally-themed live music from area performers.  The evening will also feature a silent auction and commemorate the conclusion of The Brogan Museum’s featured art exhibition, THE KINSEY COLLECTION: Shared Treasures of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey.  Sponsorships for the event and individual tickets ($50 each) to the reception are now available at 850-513-0700 or on the web at www.thefloridawinefestival.com

The Florida Wine Festival Reception will offer a wide selection of delicious cuisine provided by Klassic Katering as well as a special area for fans of Florida’s signature delight from Apalachicola, delectable oysters. An assortment of wines will be available throughout the night provided by Premier Beverages and also rare wines are available in the VIP tent provided by Banfi Vineyards. The Florida Wine Festival Reception will host wonderful musical entertainment, including the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, the Leon High Steel Drum Band and Florida Sate University’s “All-Night Yahtzee” a capella group. Guests will have a one-of-a kind experience with unlimited wine and food while listening to Tallahassee’s best musical performances.

The Florida Wine Festival, now in its eighth year, is the largest annual fundraiser for The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science.  The Florida Wine Festival emphasizes the educational aspects of wine making, wine distribution and the art and science of marketing wine.  With collaborations in Florida and from across the globe, The Brogan Museum works with event partners to introduce Florida Wine Festival attendees to unique food, wine and entertainment experiences.  The event generates crucial funding for The Brogan Museum while bringing members of the local, regional, national and international communities together.  Funds raised help support all aspects of The Brogan Museum’s operations, including programs, events and exhibits.

2010 FLORIDA WINE FESTIVAL TAKES FLIGHT
Two Days of International Flavors, Sights and Sounds


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 14, 2009) – No passport or airfare is needed to experience global flavors, sights and sounds at The Florida Wine Festival, hosted by The Mary Brogan Museum Of Art and Science.  The two-day event in downtown Tallahassee’s Kleman Plaza features a reception on Friday, March 19, 2010 and a FREE Community Festival on Saturday March 20, 2010.

Saturday’s FREE Community Festival will begin with a celebrity grape stomping competition, with last year’s winning team (The City of Tallahassee Police Department) defending their title to the renowned sounds of FAMU’s Marching 100.  New celebrity teams will vie to win the “Defend the Cup Challenge” before the children’s grape stomping contest.  The festival will showcase live music featuring styles from around the world and presentations on wine by distinguished lecturers. Vendors will sell a variety of merchandise, and local cultural organizations will conduct make-and-take children’s activities at the event.  A variety of educational programs for people of all ages will take place highlighting themes related to art and science.
